NetWay Internet Offers StarBand Two-Way, High-Speed Satellite Internet Access

NetWay Internet enters into a partnership through US Online with StarBand Communications to deliver two-way, high-speed, satellite Internet access to local businesses and residences.

North Andover, Ma, June 20, 2002 NetWay Internet, Massachusetts leading Internet Service provider today announced the availability of two-way, high-speed satellite Internet access for small business and residential customers. The new service is the product of a strategic partnership through US Online with StarBand Communications, the industry leader in two-way, always-on satellite Internet access. The service provides NetWay Internets small business and residential customers a high-speed connection virtually anywhere in Massachusetts. We no longer face the physical limitations of DSL and Fiber Optic lines in delivering high-speed Internet access, states NetWay Internet CEO Craig Nuttall.

The new service delivers an always-on connection to the Internet with download speeds up to 1 Mbps for small business customers and 500 kbps for residential consumers -- no phone service is required. The satellite Internet connection is professionally installed through small antennas on roofs, walls of customer homes or via pole mount. The antennas connect to StarBands Model 360 high-speed satellite modem, which connects to a Windows based PC via a USB or Ethernet port. When a customer accesses the service, the signal travels over the inside and outside wiring to the antenna. The antenna then relays the data signals to a satellite and the satellite sends the signal to the StarBand Network Operations Center where it gathers, aggregates and routes the signals to deliver data from the Internet to the customer.

The residential service is priced at $69.99 monthly; it requires the purchase of the antenna and satellite modem ($549) and installation (standard install starts at $199). The antenna also accommodates EchoStars DISH Network satellite TV programming for a one dish solution for high-speed satellite Internet and satellite television services. The Business service is $129.99 (up to 3 PC networking package) and $169.99 (up to 5 PC networking package) monthly; it requires the antenna and satellite modem ($799) and installation. The business service also includes a static IP address, networking software and Virtual Private Networking support.

The StarBand-NetWay partnership means more channels for more consumers to gain the speed and power of two-way, always-on Internet service, said StarBand Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Zur Feldman. Consumers everywhere want a reliable, high-performance Internet solution for their home and/or small business and our partnership with NetWay Internet delivers on that promise virtually anywhere.
